Katelyn + Jess | Arizona Wedding

Review from TheKnot

DIY Vintage Wedding_0113Hiring Clarkie Photography was the best decision we made through the whole process of planning a wedding. My husband Jess and I are both artists, performers and work extensively in events here in LA.

We chose a venue deep in Arizona, and were looking into local photographers, but I had not found anyone who’s images made me feel something. The moment I saw Richard’s blog, I knew he was the one for us. He has an incredible eye, and every image he captures tells a love story. He is also responsive, always professional and the nicest human!

The day of the wedding, he was everywhere! He took photos of things I didn’t even know were happening. I had so many guests tell me how much they enjoyed talking to him and that he is the hardest working photographer they have ever seen at a wedding. He really is a ninja, and was in a tree at one point to get the shot he wanted. He also got eaten by mosquitoes or mozzies as he called them, along with us, to get some of the most stunning shots of us in wildflowers. Those photos are worth every bite I got!

I will cherish the photographs Richard took for the rest of my life. It is impossible to pick a favorite, or even remotely narrow it down. Not a single one looks posed or unnatural. The slideshow he created brings me to tears every time. He managed to capture our motley crew of friends/tribe/family in the most gorgeous way. People who could not attend our sorta destination wedding have expressed how impressed they are with the photos, and that they felt like they were there with us after watching the amazing slideshow Richard created for us.

The sheer number of images we received EDITED in just three weeks time still ceases to amaze me. He also sent over some teaser images just a day (in which he traveled) after. He is truly an artist, and the hardest worker in the field. I feel lucky to know him.

Review from TheKnot

temecula wedding photographer_031Stop looking for a professional wedding photographer – Now. Please call Richard. You won’t believe it, but you’ll soon realize that his work is more charming and beautiful than his accent.
My wife showed me his work months ago, and I was sold immediately. Rich’s unique and artistic style (lots of contract, focus, black/white and rays of light) sets him far apart from the standard yawn-inducing photographer.

I’ve told this to Rich before, but his chosen profession & talent truly has an immensely positive impact to many people, and contributes so much to our lives. He worked so hard during our engagement shoot, and even harder (all day) on our wedding day. My wife and I knew he was focused at all times- you could see the concentration in his eyes. He was a man on a quest to get the absolutely best shots for us at our winery venue- which he did. He also wears a genuine smile, which would be hard for me to do after working 10 hours.

Clarkie’s work speaks for itself, I mean, just look at his portfolio. Its the extra quick turnaround & laid back and genuine personality which is the cherry on top. Richard even was kind enough to tie my tie ( he probably got frustrated watching me fumble through it over and over).

The value for Clarkie Photography is more than fair, and we have hundreds upon hundreds of incredible photos to show for it. Thank you Rich.

Review from TheKnot

Indian Wedding PhotographerPerhaps the strongest recommendation I can give for working with Rich is admitting that since my wedding, my family and I have been obsessed with coming up with another occasion or reason to hire him again! After my husband and I got engaged, looking for a photographer was our very first task. Given our backgrounds in film and photography, we were extremely picky. Additionally, we were having a multi-day, not quite conventional Indian/Hindu wedding, and we needed someone who could capture events that might be unfamiliar.

We researched many companies, but as soon as we came across Clarkie Photography, we knew that there was no other choice for us. Rich is amazing at both couples photography and candid shots. His couples photographs are amazingly epic, and the candid shots really capture the beauty and emotions of events. In addition to the amazing aesthetics of his work, I have never seen better documentation of a Hindu wedding ceremony.

Meeting with Rich confirmed our choice in Clarkie photography. Rich is incredibly professional and easy to work with, and you can trust him to deliver. He is very punctual and a clear communicator. He always responded to our emails in a timely manner, and took the initiative to check in and give us updates. He also took the initiative to arrive early and stay late, which means he captured moments of our wedding that even the videographer missed.

Rich is also very kind. My whole family loved him. Emotions were running high at the wedding because my family was dealing with a very recent death, and there were several difficult vendors having meltdowns. Rich was able to work with all of this chaos, adjusting his photography plans according to what was going on. He was also really honest and calming, which I truly appreciated! I was extremely stressed the whole weekend, but Rich made a point of telling me when it showed on my face, so we could have the best photographs possible. My husband and I both felt awkward taking couples photographs, which was compounded by exhaustion and hunger, but Rich did a wonderful job of encouraging us and instructing us on how to best pose. He also did a perfect job coordinating with our videographer.

I cannot recommend Clarkie photography enough. His photographs are gorgeous and real. Our family and friends oohed and aahed over their beauty, and we were happy to have photographs that will always remind us of the details, big and small, of our wonderful wedding.

Michelle + Thomas | Sonoma Wedding

Review from TheKnot

Sonoma Wedding Photographer_046If there was a way to rate Rich with more than 5 stars – we would give him 10! From our very first Skype meeting, we could tell how passionate he was about his work. I initially thought it might be difficult for Rich to photograph our wedding in Sonoma since he was based in LA, but he was incredibly flexible and willing to work with us. We decided we didn’t want to do an engagement shoot, so he joined us a day early to document our rehearsal dinner. As a result, we ended up with more candid family photos, which we absolutely love! Rich was a pleasure to work with throughout the entire process. He is professional, organized, flexible, and fun to be around! We were blown away by Rich’s energy. He arrived before we started getting ready on our wedding day and left after all of our guests boarded the bus to leave. He worked tirelessly from morning to night to capture the spirit of the day. My husband and I are both pretty silly, and Rich was able to make us feel comfortable during the more serious formal portraits. Our families and friends loved getting to meet Rich as well – several people have commented on how impressive he was and how much they enjoyed him!

After the wedding we were blown away by how quickly Rich sent us all of our photos. The day after we returned from our honeymoon (3 weeks from our wedding day), we received the most beautiful slide show and digital files of all of the photos from the rehearsal dinner and wedding. All of the emotions from our wedding day bubbled right back up – he completely captured the essence and energy of the day. It is such a special way to relive the day and share the memories with our family and friends. We have received tons of compliments, and most importantly we absolutely LOVE the images Rich captured. He is so much more than a wedding photographer, he is truly an artist! Rich was by far the best vendor that we worked with on our wedding day and we have already highly recommended him to our friends!

Negin + Josh | Hummingbird Nest Ranch Wedding

Review from TheKnot

Hummingbird Nest Ranch Wedding portraitsMy wife and I feel so fortunate to have found Richard. From our initial phone call to when he sent the final images, he was an absolute pleasure to work with. He was simultaneously calm, assertive and professional. An added bonus is he has a great sense of humor! When we first got in touch with Richard, he made a concerted effort to learn about us as a couple. He’s a captive listener and you can tell he cares a great deal about catering his storytelling and style to all of his subjects.

We did our engagement photo shoot in Angeles National Forest. Richard not only put us at ease with his jokes, he also did something that I believe played an important part in leading to the incredible, evocative photos we ended up with: he asked us to stop for a few minutes, look each other in the eye and say why we loved each other, what qualities we admired. The results were stunning, and not only because Richard is an expert in his craft at a technical level, but also due to the way he masterfully interacts with the people he is working with.

After being floored by the quality of the engagement photos we would have been happy if the wedding shots were of the same caliber. But no, Richard and his assistant took it to a new level. What came back to us from Richard looked better than what you see in the best magazines and blogs. Our event was at Hummingbird Nest Ranch and Richard took full advantage of the raw beauty of our venue, putting us and all of our guests in the best light. Whether it was herding cats during the family and bridal party shots or getting in the middle of the dance floor during the reception, Richard made sure to capture all the photos we would have wanted and more.

His performance was an A+ and I give him my highest level of recommendation!

Review from TheKnot

Napa WeddingRich is the best! He made us feel comfortable, relaxed & he worked his butt off! Not only that, but the pictures turned out better than I could have ever hoped for. We loved him, my family loved him & the guests commented on how great he was. He was reliable, listened to our concerns & answered all questions almost immediately.

I can’t say enough how pleased I was with how the pictures turned out & his entire attitude. I would recommend him to anyone… 5 stars!

Abigail + Chris | Catalina Island Wedding

Review from TheKnot

Catalina Wedding Photographer_0076Well, what can I say?! The pictures speak for themselves. After receiving the preview slideshow, we were amazed at the pictures Rich got, his timing, the emotion captured, his initiative, and how he really captured the things that meant the most to us, which was so impressive considering how little time we had actually spent together until then. The preview slideshow is one of my favorite parts- being able to sit back and watch the wedding story unfold is very powerful and his work on the slideshow allows us to relive our wedding weekend on Catalina Island again and again.

After getting the full album of pictures, turns out we were equally impressed with every single picture in the whole album! Every picture is worth framing and we have no idea how we’re going to choose. This is a terrific problem to have!

Rich has an incredible attention to detail and is one of the hardest working people we have ever met. He is a true professional and every step of the way he was communicative, easygoing, and frankly, exactly what we were looking for in a photographer.

We had a wedding weekend celebration on Catalina Island and Rich really captured our story well. While in the garden showing some family and friends around (mind you, no announcement was made that we were heading there), I turned around and there was Rich, capturing it all. Rich was also up until 1am taking pictures Friday night and somehow also has pictures of the sunrise the following morning, our wedding day (which we certainly weren’t up for!). He has pictures of my nephew swimming in the ocean for the first time, and a friend doing a backflip off the float… his dedication to capturing the wedding story of his clients goes beyond just the wedding itself, but extends to the emotion and story of real moments that happen throughout the whole experience. He got pictures of things we didn’t even know he was there for.

While Rich’s pictures speak for themselves, what is equally remarkable is Rich’s professionalism, adaptability, incredible work ethic, friendliness, and fun demeanor. He so easily fit into whatever was going on and was all a pleasure to be around!

Aside from getting married and choosing for it to be on Catalina Island, where my husband and I met, Rich was the best decision we made while planning our wedding.
While there is much to stress about during the whole process and especially on the day, having Rich as our photographer was one thing we never thought twice about.

His pictures are authentic (never forced or too posed) and he really knows what he’s doing. We will be forever grateful for his talent. Along with having amazing memories captured through his lens, we really had a great time with Rich and are so happy to have spent the whole weekend with him. We would hire him again in a heartbeat a thousand times over!
We can’t thank Rich enough for capturing what he did and for giving us the gift of pictures we will treasure forever!! We are so happy to have also made a new friend in the process.

Sarah Jean + Greg | Mountaingate Country Club Wedding

Review from TheKnot

Mountaingate Country Club Wedding PhotographerThere are no words to describe this mans talents! Il try though…. Phenomenal, artistic, friendly, reasonably priced. My husband and I are both very fussy when it comes to good photos, we decided early on that if we spent any money on our wedding the main money would be dedicated to photography to capture the memories.

Looking on yelp, the knot and photographer websites for weeks, a friend recommended Richard Clarke. Being from the uk myself, I was drawn to the fact he too is British. We met for a consultation having seen the stunning photos on his website and blog. We both loved his style and ability to capture real candid moments In his images, as well as his use of negative space in photos that make them pieces of art. So much in fact that I was very concerned his prices would be through the roof.

When we met him we were happily impressed with his professionalism as well as his friendly attitude, when I saw his price range I jumped at the chance to work with him. It was a tad more than we budgeted originally but we were impressed that he didn’t want to sell himself short by dropping his price drastically, although he helped to stay close to our budget and truly his work is worth what he charges.

We decided on a package that included an engagement shoot. This was a great decision because it meant my husband could get used to being photographed (something he’s not overly keen on). Richard made it comfortable and a fun experience, the images from that shoot only confirmed that we had the right guy for our wedding. We have already blown up several of that shoots images for our wall and used one as the entrance photo on the wedding day.

On the day itself he worked with us perfectly and the end results were exactly what I had hoped for. The only negative I can possibly give him, is he’s too good! I will now take months to pick the best from 1000 of incredible photos! Thanks a lot Richard! Haha

In conclusion, if you are thinking of working with Richard….don’t think any longer. Book him, you won’t regret it and his prices will rocket soon because he’s too good to charge what he currently charges! Exceptional!!

Richard is, simply put, a genius when it comes to capturing the raw emotions of a wedding. He moves and contorts his body just to get that perfect shot, capturing the light just so that it highlights the overwhelming joy you feel in that particular second.

From the moment we met Rich, we were struck by how professional he was. He was very responsive and gave us every detail of the service he would be providing. He was one of those vendors you never had to worry about. Despite that we had a budget, he never once scaled back on the quality of his service. He showed up even earlier than we asked and stayed until the very end of the night. For this alone, we are eternally grateful.

Beyond his professionalism, we cannot stress how beautiful the shots are. With Rich, you will not get the cookie cutter photos that you see in every wedding blog. Instead you will get striking, raw but beautifully composed, photojournalistic quality images–photos that tell a story in it of itself. We’ve only just received the sneak peaks, but we cannot stop staring at the few of his pictures he has released. Those pictures alone are worth every penny.

Thank you so much, Richard. Your talent is exceptional.

Solvang Vineyard Wedding Photography

Rich and I connected through a mutual friend, and thank goodness because from the minute my now-husband and I saw his portfolio, we knew we wanted Rich to photograph our wedding!

When we met up in person, we all clicked immediately. He is a very warm, friendly, genuine person who has a very obvious passion for his work. However, one of my favorite things about that first meeting was that he was never once pushy about us booking his services… he didn’t need to be because his work and demeanor spoke for themselves! We never even considered hiring anyone else.

Before the big day, Rich did an incredible engagement shoot for us in Agoura Hills. To say the photographs came out beautifully is a huge understatement! Rich’s attention to detail is truly amazing! We spent hours finding one stunning location after another to capture what turned out to be very spectacular shots. To top it all off, Rich did the entire thing on crutches and never complained once… what a champ! I loved the engagement shoot because it gave us a chance to get to know Rich better before the big day.

About a month later, we tied the knot on a vineyard property in the Santa Ynez valley. Rich was there at our ceremony rehearsal at 8:30am, ready to go! He even gave the wedding party a brief rundown of what to expect from a photography perspective that day so everyone knew what would be happening. The entire day, Rich was running from one location to another to capture every beautiful moment of our day. He is such a hard worker… I never saw him take a break unless it was to back up photos! He was professional yet very personable with all of our guests. We had rave reviews from them before we even saw a single picture! We all loved him so much that we insisted he join us for a beer at the after-party without his camera! 🙂

Then we got the photos (a few teasers within a couple days and then the blog, slideshow, and full gallery within a few weeks!). Words cannot describe how absolutely breathtaking they turned out. Looking through the hundreds and hundreds of photos was like reliving the day in the same gorgeous, emotional way I remember it in my head. I am still not sure how one person managed to be in so many places at once to capture it all, but that is the kind of photographer Rich is. He anticipated and captured every moment and raw emotion with a grace that boggles my mind!

I really could go on and on about how wonderful our experience was working with Rich. We could not have trusted anyone else as much as we did Rich to invest that kind of heart and soul into our day. He truly felt the emotions of the moment along with us and translated them into photographs that we will cherish forever. A million thank you’s to you, Rich. We couldn’t be more grateful for your hard work and stunning photos. The best part is that my husband and I now feel as though we have made a good friend in Rich, and we hope he will remain a part of our lives as such! 🙂

Take my word for it, be smart and book this guy now! Five stars doesn’t do him justice.

What else can I say that hasn’t already been said? Everything the other reviews say about Rich is 100% true. He is hands down the best decisions we made in our wedding planning process. I researched dozens of photographers in the LA area during the early stages of our planning process and was continuously disappointed by the cheesy cliches and styles being used out there. We wanted someone to give us artistic photos that we were proud to display. Rich gave us exactly that and more. Rich was able to capture so many incredible moments during our wedding that we’ll be able to cherish forever. His attention to detail is incredible and he’s a true professional. His sense of humor and overall positive nature make him such a pleasure to have around during these personal and often private moments. His process and style made things so easy on the wedding day.

We know that he meets so many people and shoots so many weddings but on our day he made us and our family / friends feel so special. The toughest part of the entire process is choosing which of the amazing photos we’re going to frame and put up in our home. We want to put them all up! I would recommend Rich to anyone. In fact, if we could hire him to photograph all the special moments in our life, we would :)really don’t even know where to begin with this. Richard was amazing. From start to finish. Fantastic.

Jess + Dakota | Alaska Wedding

Review from the TheKnot

Alaska Wedding Photographer

I really don’t even know where to begin with this. Richard was amazing. From start to finish. Fantastic.

Before the wedding, just getting started he was on top of things. Meeting with us, follow up emails, invoicing, all that was very organized. Which when you are planning could make or break you. We met in Los Angeles and our wedding was in Alaska. We had thought there’s no way we want to hire a destination photographer thinking of expense and also knowledge of the area. It turned out to be the best decision of the entire wedding.

He was so accommodating and professional and a huge plus, affordable. He had a great sense of humor and was able to deal with our particular brand of wedding chaos, Alaskans are quite a bunch. We had looked into a lot of photographers locally and I had liked their photos but after awhile they had all started to look the same. Our venue has been done a million times for those guys up there. It all started to look very stock, insert bride and groom here. He was able to look at Our venue with new, O so creative eyes and the resulting photographs are absolutely stunning. I’m in the hair industry and I see a lot of brides and of course I’ve been making everyone I know look at my photos whether they want to or not and everyone is stunned! We got over a thousand usable shots. The only problem we are having is being able to decide which ones to chose to hang up. We are going to end up with a total wedding gallery in our new home! My husband keeps sending his choices and they are never ending!

During the wedding he was everywhere and nowhere. I see some of the photos and I go “seriously, I didn’t even see him there! How did he get that shot!” And yet if I turned around and wanted a picture of something specific there he was ready to go. He also worked so well with our videographer that my bridesmaid who is getting married in the fall thought they were a team and wanted to know how to go about hiring them. Our guest all loved him and my mother in law was smitten as well! He worked so well with the bridal party that one of the groomsman who been in a few weddings said that this was a rare time when the photos part didn’t “suck” haha cause rich made it fun and moved the formals along and kept us organized as much as he could! I told you Alaskans do things a bit differently.

He stayed all day with us and was professional until the end and we got our photos back ridiculously quick. Our sneak peak slide show was amazing and I just seriously could go on forever but I’m running out of allowed characters. Rating all of our vendors, Clarkie photography is number one. Best decision we’ve ever made. The day goes by so fast, people tell you that but you don’t really grasp it until it happens to you. The day is over but our photos will last forever as a seriously magical reminder of how mazing it feels when all of you hard work and planning comes together and you get to marry your best friend. He captured it all.

Laurel + Bill | LA Wedding, Elysian

Review from TheKnot

Elysian Wedding Los Angeles

Rich was the hardest working man at our wedding, and we are so thrilled with the results. His photographic style is totally unique, especially his black and white shots. He completely captured the emotional journey of the day – and made us look great too! He was very understanding of our budget and helped us find a package that worked for us, with no pressure to upgrade, which was a concern in LA. During the wedding he was both unobtrusive and polite, yet clear about what he would need to get the perfect shot. We received teaser images just a few days after the wedding, and the final edited photos only a few weeks later. I would recommend him in a heartbeat.

Mike + Una | Palos Verdes Engagement

Review from TheKnot

When we were looking for a photographer, his captures were an absolute standout. They were candid, emotional, creatively framed and artistic. We loved his style. We were expecting him to be extremely pricey so we were pleasantly shocked when he turned out to be very reasonably priced. He also provides a bunch of edited photos and a quick turnaround on them which is a perk that most high end wedding photographers don’t provide.

We couldn’t be happier with the photos. We honestly would’ve been grateful to come away with 10-20 great photos for an album. We have a 100 and are having difficulty narrowing them down… Great problem to have.

Richard is a Kool dude and very likable.Totally personable and easy to be comfortable around. He really took his time to chat with us on Skype leading to the shoot and even helped with location scouting. He felt like a friend throughout and still does. He’s a good man.

Overall, I don’t believe there’s a better value in town for a high end photography with real photographic talent. There’s lots of photographers with great equipment but Richard has a natural god given eye for the work. If you’re looking for natural candid shots and find posed photography cheesy and distasteful, this is the way to go.

Emily + Jig| London Wedding

Review from the Knot

Rich, where do we start….. Thank you!! Through your lens you have captured perfectly the best days of our lives. Our photos reflect your skill and passion, and our emotion, and we are so so grateful. We understand that having two separate wedding ceremonies, across two days and back to back, was a big job (!) but at every step of the way you were calm, smiling and in exactly the right position to capture the moment. The two days were distinctively different; a traditional Hindu ceremony with the bright colours and rituals of the temple, and a white wedding against the backdrop of London. The slide shows you created, backed by our favourite music, have brought a tear to the eye of everyone who has watched them, and are a fantastic memento. How you edited the hundreds of photos you took – we’re not sure – but as a result we have the most incredible wedding photo gallery that tells the complete story of both wedding days from start to finish. Having worked together in the past (albeit in a very different field to photography!) when Jig and I learnt that you had started a wedding photography business, and we took a look at your portfolio, we didn’t even consider anyone else to take our photos. And now we have seen the end results, we are your biggest advocates! We wish you all the best with your new career and could not recommend you highly enough to future brides & grooms. Thanks again, Em & Jig x

We loved Richard! From the very first time I spoke with him, I knew that Richard was nothing short of professional. We live across the world from one another, yet got to know each other before the big day via email and Skype calls. He is generous, kind, and above all, a fabulous photographer.

The pictures I have are absolutely stunning and he captured not only the big day, but the rehearsal dinner the night before. There was so much emotion as this was not only a wedding but also a family reunion cum Bali vacation and the emotion is obvious in all of the photos. I cry every time I look through them!

Thank you so much Richard for putting us at ease throughout the whole process and for giving us beautiful, artistic photos. I love all of the candid shots and emotion!

We couldn’t be any more happy with the photos from Clarkie Photography!

Richard has an amazing eye and was able to give us those memorable moments – from how windy our day was, to the little details on our tables. He is professional, funny, and most of all, made our day more fun! When we got our photos back, we were super happy at the creativity.

I will always remember “The power of a white wall!”. If you’re looking for boring wedding photos, go elsewhere.

Richard is truly as good as it gets. Not only is he an extremely talented photographer, he is a wonderful person- charming, professional, lovely to be around, and committed to delivering exceptional work. He has an incredible eye for detail, doesn’t miss a beat, and works harder than anyone I have ever met! When our wedding called for shots on a hot tennis court, he jumped at the chance (and obliged my groom by hitting a ball or two!) He ran from location to location to ensure that no detail went un documented, and was so emotionally connected to us as a couple that our shots reflect intimacy and raw moments that only Richard could anticipate and capture. He is so quick to respond to emails and touched base with me in the weeks leading up to the wedding not just to talk photo details, but to make sure I was doing OK. I can’t think of anyone I would trust more than Richard — I can honestly say that I now consider him a friend. A dear friend at that, who stood by our side on a very emotional day, and managed to capture the essence of our day in a stunningly beautiful portfolio of photos! If I could give him 10 stars, I honestly would!

Richard, we can’t thank you enough for the amazing job you did capturing our wedding. Not only do we have incredible photos of the event, but you helped make the experience what it was.

I feel like you really captured the essence of the day and Kyle’s and my spirit. Thank you for being such a rock star!

What can I say, you caught so many key moments in our magical day. I still get weepy when I revisit the reveal picture, such a flood of emotion at that very moment, I almost feel it all over again and catching the tear falling down my face during the father daughter dance, just priceless!

These moments are so very special to me and you portrayed them in a beautiful light. You did not just take pictures at our wedding, you stepped right in to our world and you got it!

Choosing Clarkie Photography was the single best decision we made of the thousands of decisions we had to make to plan a wedding. The moment we met Richard it seemed like a natural fit. In my opinion, there are 2 things that matter when choosing a photographer: the quality of the work and the ease of working together. We got way more than we expected on both. His work is nothing short of art. He finds a simplicity and beauty in moments that we didn’t think were possible to capture on film. Richard also did our engagement shoot (you MUST do this! It is such a romantic experience, you’ll truly regret not doing it). I was blown away when I saw the photos! Absolute perfection. Nothing standard or typical about the photos or the backdrop, and most importantly he captured us as we really are. Even while we were in the middle of taking the photos I didn’t have the vision to see all the beauty in our surroundings. But he did. Art. That is the only way to describe it. So how was it to work with Richard? Well, let’s just say even our wedding guests left saying, “your photographer was awesome”. Why is personality important in your photographer?? Because if your guests don’t connect with him, they’ll dodge the camera. He made everything so comfortable and natural, nothing forced or posed. He has a way about him that makes people relaxed and comfortable. And all of that comes to life in the images! He captured every intimate moment, even a lot of moments I missed on that day, and he captured it in such a way that every emotion from our day floods back when we look at the pictures. My advice: Hire Clarkie Photography, don’t make a list of 300 posed pictures you must have, give him the creative freedom to capture your day organically with all the candid, honest moments; they are the ones you’ll want to remember on your 50th Wedding Anniversary.

Richard, you did an amazing job of capturing the story of not only our wedding, but all the events leading up to our wedding. Your style and personality fit in perfectly with the vibe we were trying to create with our wedding, and the images you captured will enable us to look back fondly on an incredible day for the rest of our lives.

We couldn’t have asked for a better photographer! And, on top of your ability to take stunning photos, you were an absolute pleasure to interact with! We can’t recommend or thank you enough..

Richard, we hired a wedding photographer and received an artist with a lense. I figured that we were on the right track when we agreed that candid moments tend to be the best photographed as it captures the reality of that situation. You my friend, managed to capture and further convey the given moment and associated emotions. To refer to your photos as anything less than “art” would be completely inaccurate bordering criminal.
An important aspect of your work is to note the sheer number of quality, and breathtaking photos. I believe that this is a function of several factors, one being your untiring work ethic.

The moment that you arrived it was “go time”. I was amazed to see how you would rally from one location to photograph (my beautiful and hot bride) getting ready, to the hotel where I was staying just so he can capture the “construction” phase of the wedding parties. Once on location, you looked like a chemist mixing different light and background mediums in your signature hiding places just to capture your intended target, without the target ever seeing you…. In conclusion, I have made 3 great decisions: to get engaged, to marry my beautiful wife, and to hire you to photograph the event. Richard, you sir, are a professional of talented proportion and have set the standard for professional photographer. Be prepared to cover future events for the Marquez family.

Rane, Cory + Crystal | LA Family Portraits

After briefly meeting Rich at my buddy’s wedding (where he snapped some great shots of my son, and the wedding at large too) we snatched him up to do some long needed family shots. After unavoidably postponing on him a couple times, including once when Rane busted his lip the very morning of the shoot 🙁 Classic!! Rich was so accommodating throughout, and once on the scene… he unobtrusively hovered around and grabbed some amazingly masterful shots. This whole shoot takes place in a crowded public park / beach, and yet, not a single other person or other distracting element in any of the shots!

He was totally open to our input and ideas, but was right there with guidance for things he had in mind. Most importantly, he made it easy to be ourselves and live in that moment we shared and captured that day. Rich: Nice work sir. You have made my photo-hungry family happy. Thank you and the best of luck!
