Emily + Jig | London Engagement | Southbank

Couple Portraits

May 22, 2014

My flight from LA landed at Heathrow just before lunch and I met up with Emily and Jig a few hours later at the famous Borough Market which now lies in the shadow of the impressive Shard, now an integral part of the London skyline. Emily and Jig are friends of mine but we really haven’t seen each other in quite some time. They were back in London preparing for their two day wedding that weekend, which they asked me to photograph, hence why I too was in London!

It was so great catching up with these two again and seeing how besotted they are with each other. We discussed how we each took for granted what this city has to offer when were all living and working here. We agreed that it’s a good idea to pretend you’re a tourist once in a while in order to gain a fresh perspective on a place. It really does help you appreciate what an awesome city London is.

I hope you know how good this is. Gee whizz. Killer comps, moments and light. The frame under the bridge with the guy on his phone dead centre in the foreground, and the ones with the shaft of hard light on the roller door. Holy moly. Amazing.

I do now! Thanks guys. Made my day.

Wow – coming from you Andreas that means a great deal. Thank you!
