I met Crystal, Cory and their dude of a son Rane at a recent Los Angeles wedding at Paramount Ranch. Any family as photogenic as these guys will always receive some special side attention from a photographer, well they certainly did from me. I captured some good images of them on the day but I really wanted to spend more time with these guys to see what we could create. So I made the suggestion to Crystal and we agreed to do this family shoot in Playa Del Rey just around the corner from us both. We lucked out with the conditions and as willing subjects they were naturals – this will probably be one of the easiest assignments I ever do!
Rane is a future star in the making and Crystal and Cory are probably the coolest parents ever. At times it felt like a combined family and engagement shoot all in one – not a bad thing at all.
In fact, I think it deserves a category all of its own….judge for yourself..

We could tell when we met Rich at our friends’ wedding that he knew what he was doing and was a pro at stepping in, unnoticed to capture a perfect moment. He even knew how to get our 3 year old to hold still long enough for a pic, which is quite impressive. It was effortless and fun to take these pictures with him.
