I’d visited the Danish village of Solvang (Danish for ‘sunny fields’) in the Santa Ynez valley last year and loved it, such a unique place and such beautiful landscapes, even by California standards. So when I met Erika and Walker in a cafe in Sherman Oaks last year to discuss working together, I was so stoked to hear this was exactly where they’d chosen to have their wedding – it was to be an open air vineyard wedding at the Doll Pond Wedding Garden & Vineyard just 5 minutes outside of Solvang.
This day was one I will remember for a very long time. Erika and Walker were simply brilliant to work with, their friends were all awesome and their families so welcoming to me. No matter how stunning the location is, we wedding photographers need emotion and moments to tell a compelling story and I hope these images are proof that we got that in spades. No shortage of tears in this one.
I’m immensely proud of what we created together that day, and so grateful for being asked to capture what unfolded. I’m also especially thankful for being asked to join in the after party drinks at a certain Solvang watering hole, without my camera..
Quick shout out to Jamie and Chris at CJN Event Planning. Great working with you guys
