Yeisi and Danny were one of the first couples to book me earlier this year, after we met for a coffee in Venice Beach. I was so happy when we were able to agree something right then and there as we got on so well. It just so happened that their Pomona Wedding ended up being the last wedding I’d shoot this year and it was a fitting emotional finale to 2013. The standout from an incredible day was the ceremony, it often is. The main event took place at the Pomona Mining company which has an elevated position above Pomona looking west. During the ceremony, the intense November sun was bursting through the huge windows surrounding the room and despite causing me some photographic challenges at first, created a great atmosphere within the room and as the sun slowly sank behind the horizon, I managed to capture some really honest moments and a few tears….
I really hope the images portray the strong sense of emotion and intense faith apparent throughout the proceedings and the extent to which this young couple are in love. They kept reaching out to lock their little fingers at various stages during the night and stole private embraces as much as they could. It is always such a privilege to observe the different partnerships and ways of expressing affection. Every wedding is different, no couple are the same and I love that the story I get to tell is always a unique one.
Congratulations Yeisi & Danny and thank you for letting me a part of your day.
